Part of the world renowned Elko Cowboy Poetry Gathering, this event embodies the spirit and heart of a uniquely American way of life.

For more than 30 years, the ranchers, cowboys and artists at the Elko Cowboy Poetry Gathering have been sharing poems, stories and music about their lives, celebrating the shared traditions and experiences of the land and culture of the rural West. Elko brings together artisans who share their love of cowboy culture. Declared by journalists as “the most honest and open-hearted festival in America” and described by ranchers as “the highest concentration of lies in any one place at any one time,” Elko is the real deal.

Somerston Estate’s Harvest Hands Series is a hands-on experience that will spark your passion for cooking while enjoying a range of wine during this four-hour adventure at the estate. Each month they will work with seasonal ingredients and a trained chef to teach you simple techniques that will take you culinary level up a notch. Everything you make will be served alongside lunch and paired with Priest Ranch wines. Their wine specialists and a local chef will discuss how each wine pairs, specifically with certain foods – a skill that you will be sure to impress with at your next social gathering. You will take home recipes and samples to assist you in recreating each meal year after year.

Nothing is more reminiscent of fall afternoons than a warm apple pie with a dollop of vanilla bean ice cream on top! But with so many other ways to bring apples to the dinner table, this cooking session will have you buying bags and bags of apples to make each course at home over and over again.
