Passion has the wonderful power to turn mere objects into an obsession, to transform everyday tasks into art. At Beringer, we have been living our passion for over 141 years.
Our history dates back to the year 1868, when Jacob Beringer, enticed by the opportunities of the new world, sailed from his home in Mainz, Germany, to New York. However, after hearing that the rocky hillside soil and fertile valley floor resembled that of vineyards back home in Germany, Jacob made his way to the Napa Valley. Jacob and his brother Frederick purchased 215 acres of land in 1875, and became one of the first wineries in Napa Valley.
Beringer is known for establishing many ‘firsts’ as leaders in the wine industry.
- One of the first gravity fed facilities and among the first to operate using hand-dug caves and cellars.
- The first to give public tours in 1934, starting a Napa Valley hospitality tradition.
- The first and only winery to have both a red and a white wine named #1 Wine of the Year by Wine Spectator Magazine.

VERANDA TASTING

We are excited to welcome you to our historic Rhine House! Savor the beauty of Napa Valley while tasting a selection of our current release reserve wines. This tasting will take place at your own table on the beautiful wrap-around Veranda of the Rhine House built in 1886. A unique opportunity to drink in the history and be part of our iconic winery and estate.
10:00 am until 4:00pm. Guests must be 21 years of age. 60 minute experience.
PLAZA EXPERIENCE
15 per guest + tax
We are thrilled to welcome you to our beautiful outdoor space, the Rhine House Plaza! You will be seated surrounding the historic Fountain designed by Ruth Asawa. Included in your admission, select a glass of wine from our curated menu.
Only available Fridays through Sunday. 10:00 am until 4:00pm.
All ages welcome in the Plaza. 50 minute experience.
BACKYARD
TASTING UNDER THE OAKS

Seated at your own table underneath some of our most majestic Oak trees, partake in a delicious flight of winery exclusive wines. This tasting offers a selection of winery-exclusive wines, ranging from light-bodied whites to fruit-driven reds, which elegantly evoke the Napa Valley and Knights Valley terroirs.

OLD WINERY EXPERIENCE

Enjoy beautiful Napa Valley from our scenic Promenade outside our original winery building. While seated at your own table, enjoy a delicious glass of wine from our curated menu.
10:00 am until 4:00pm. All ages welcome. 50 minute experience.
PICNIC FOR 2
$70 for two guests
Escape to wine country and enjoy a picnic lunch for 2 in our shaded backyard behind the historical Rhine House. Delight in our house-made selection of Tomato Tart Tatin, Fresh Pasta Salad, Pork Rillette with Whole Grain Mustard & Baguette, Peach Prosciutto & Arugula Wedges, Crudité with House Made Hummus, Marin Farms Petite Breakfast Cheese, Olives, Nuts & a Sweet Treat. Your lunch is served in an insulated Beringer Picnic Basket (perfect for traveling) included are 2 recyclable wine tumblers and a bottle opener – these are yours to keep! Select your choice of a bottle of Red or White wine when you arrive on site (this will be an extra cost) – and enjoy! Take time afterwards to stroll and enjoy the gardens and drink in our history.
