Your Girls’ Getaway Starts in Yountville
| As August comes around, we’re leaving the red, white, and blue behind and heading into the summer trips. Vacation – finally, the heat and sun we’ve all been craving.
So pack your suitcase: this August we’re taking the girls to Yountville. Here’s the full itinerary, for an iconic girl’s trip.
Between vineyard tastings, fabulous restaurants, restorative spas and downtown shopping, everything you need for a memorable weekend is right here (and much of it is within walking distance).
Friday hits and it’s time to round up your crew. Bags dropped, phones on silent, and the only plan left is figuring out where the first glass gets poured.
Happy Hour Options
There are plenty of spots in Yountville, but for a top-tier girls’ trip, we’ve got two favorites:
- The Restaurant at North Block, where Happiest Hour runs 3 – 6 pm and a $10 cosmo’ is exactly the reset you need after a long week.
- The Coop by Hoopes offers Happy Hours from 4 – 6pm on Fridays, and offer not only their own wines and label, but the most delicious cocktails and bites.
| Once happy hour winds down, it’s time to go to your weekend’s home base — where are you staying? |
For a private, view-forward escape
STTUPA sits between the vineyards and the mountains, just five minutes from downtown. With only five suites, it’s easy to book out the whole property for your group – and the team there will build out anything you want, from a private yoga session to a chef-prepared dinner.
For downtown energy
The Estate Yountville brings Mediterranean charm, an Italian-style patio, and fountains built for photos. Complimentary car service means you can wear THE heels without worrying about the walk.
Time to trade the happy hour flats for heels, the gloss for lipstick and shorts for dress – here’s where we’re taking the girls for dinner.
For farm-to-table elegance:
Brix sits on 16 prime Napa Valley acres, pairing garden and vineyard views with a wine list that’s earned a Napa Valley Wine List Award – the kind of setting that makes the meal feel like the main event.
For glam:
RH Restaurant brings the chandeliers, the greenery, and a chic modern aesthetic that’s pure main-character energy for the night.
Saturday: Wine Country Calls
Rise and shine, ladies – the vines are calling and so is a glass in hand. Saturday is the reason you booked this trip in the first place, so let’s get the group out and into wine country. Coffee can wait!
First stop : waking up in the vineyard
Because every great girls’ trip deserves bubbles before noon, both Goosecross Cellars and Chandon are absolute must-try.
Goosecross Cellars offers a standout matinee tasting at $30 a person – less than half the valley average of $70 – with vineyard views and a lineup running from sparkling to crisp sauv. blanc, silky rosé, luxurious pinot, bold cab, and so many others. Their winery is located right in Yountville, so you get the vines without leaving town. |
Prefer Bubbles, Spritz & Mimosas?
If your idea of the perfect girls’ trip starts with multiple glasses of sparkling wine specifically, Chandon should be at the top of your list.
Start the morning with a glass of Brut or Brut Rosé, sip on a refreshing Garden Spritz, or try one of the seasonal fruit spritzes before wandering the winery, taking a behind-the-scenes cave tour, and snapping a few photos along the way.
| Tasting flights only get you so far – time to refuel before the afternoon adventure. |
The OMG spot:
For the see-and-be-seen brunch, Clementine delivers European summer energy and their now-famous Aperol Spritz tower. Yes, you read right, a Tower, paired with an Italian-style eggs benedict, a leek and aged cheddar quiche, or a squash blossom and burrata flatbread.
Grab-and-go deliciousness:
For something quick, Velo Deli & Pizzeria has fresh salads and pizza ready to grab downtown — ideal when there’s too much of Yountville left to explore to sit down for long.
Full from brunch and buzzing from the tastings – now let’s get the group outside and moving.
Trade the car for electric scooters through the vineyards with Glidesdale Adventure. With a private tour booked, your girls have a customizable start & end time, a private guide, a curated winery route (with your choice of wineries!), and a complimentary photo package included.
If you prefer pedaling on your own, Napa Valley Bike Tours also offers bike rentals downtown Yountville, giving you the freedom to ride the Vine Trail as you like.
| Two days of wine, sun, and nonstop plans deserve a soft landing. Sunday is for recovery – for letting the group relax before everyone heads home. |
A gentle wake up
Before the spa, start slow. The girls will be obsessed with the Pistachio Rose Latte from Madeleine’s Macaron, and the relaxed patio is the perfect spot to enjoy it alongside a pastry.
For the more adventurous ones, Stewart Cellars shares that same patio and can provide the mandatory bubbles, if that’s more your morning speed.
Either way, this North Yountville stop is a gently first step to your Sunday.
Head to Bardessono for a spa day – facials, lymphatic release, or a liquid lift are all on the menu. Book a treatment of 50 minutes or longer and you’ll get complimentary access to the sauna, heated rooftop pool, and hot tub from 9am to 6pm.
If you’re staying at North Block or The Estate Yountville, they also both offer spa services right on property – relax!
And what’s a girl’s trip without a little shopping? No wine country weekend is complete without a stroll through downtown Yountville’s boutiques.
Clothing
Swing by Tina Stephens, The Yount Room, and Montecristi Panama Hats for the outfits and accessories you didn’t know you needed.
Home Goods & Decor
Looking to bring a little Yountville home with you? Hillstone Home and Alchemy Works have you covered for décor and home goods, while Finesse, The Store and Hestan Vineyrds have very high-end cooking equipment.
Perfect for filling the gaps between spa treatments or change scenery after an afternoon at the pool!
Every group is different, so here are a couple of ways to make sure everyone in your crew feels included.
Bringing kids along?
The Coop by Hoopes is a relaxed, kid-friendly stop for lunch — plenty of room for little ones to run around while you enjoy Hoopes’ own wines.
Not drinking?
The Yount Room is a wine collective offering both traditional flights and a full non-alcoholic wine label called No&Co, thanks to their patented winemaking process. Everyone gets a full tasting experience – no one sits out. |
Remember – Yountville is the first and only town in the Napa Valley to allows people to drink in open containers directly in the street and sidewalk area.
Daily from 10 AM to 10 PM, guests can purchase alcoholic beverages from participating local businesses and enjoy them outdoors along designated areas of Washington Street, as long as drinks are served in a Town of Yountville-approved cup provided by the business.
