Imagine arriving at the airport in a little over an hour. No tolls. No bridges. You walk into the terminal and within a few minutes you’re sipping a glass of wine or enjoying a farm-to-fork meal at a local restaurant. Yep, that’s what it’s like flying through Sacramento International Airport.

There’s a reason the Wall Street Journal named us the top midsize airport in the nation according to their 2022 Airport rankings. The airports were then measured on 19 categories from on-time performance and security waits to customer-satisfaction score and ticket prices. Some key conveniences that boosted the rating – low flight cancellations, quick taxi and security clearance times, and a max walking distance of only 1,213 feet. Can you say that about other Bay Area airports?

SO MANY DESTINATIONS

The airport has 45 nonstop flights, not only to most California destinations, but also three nonstops to Hawaii, five to Mexico and two to Canada. On the domestic front, American Airlines is announcing a new nonstop route to Miami – SMF’s first nonstop to the Sunshine State. In addition to Miami’s spectacular beaches, global cuisine and vibrant culture, the city’s airport is a gateway to the Caribbean islands. Cruising next year? Now you can get from Napa to Miami’s ports with ease. The inaugural flight takes off on December 20, 2023!

New nonstops to Nashville and Austin made those hot destinations even easier to get to from Northern California earlier this year. Travelers can easily get across the country with nonstop access to New York City (EWR and JFK), Boston and Washington, D.C. as well as great cities like Chicago, Denver and Dallas.

This summer, Air Canada added four nonstop flights a week to Toronto, creating a convenient new option for visiting Canada’s largest city, accessing the country’s eastern provinces (hello, Montreal and Quebec!) and expanding one-stop access to some of the world’s most exciting cities. Daily flights will not only get travelers to Toronto, but also give travelers access to Air Canada’s vast international flight network through easy one-stop connections via Toronto – including London, Frankfurt, and São Paulo – so if a trip to Europe or South American is on your travel wish list Air Canada will get you one stop closer.

BEAUTY, CONVENIENCE AND DELICIOUS FOOD

With nearly 20 works of public art, close to two dozen restaurants, unique shops and lounges you may want to give yourself extra time in our terminals just to enjoy the amenities. It’s a rarity to enjoy your time in the airport as much as your trip, but we strive to make the experience as comfortable and stress-free as possible. Plus, we’re known for our friendly and helpful staff (and our BARC team of support dogs!) who strive to provide exceptional customer service every day, any hour.

For visitors coming to Napa Valley from other parts of the country, our airport is the fastest way to get them there. Once you land in Sacramento, it’s about a 75-minute drive to Yountville and for those heading up valley it is only 30 minutes further to Calistoga.

Our airport is the gateway a convenient route to and from California’s wine country, saving travelers time, money and most of all stress.
