Platypus Wine Tours Limited is a tour company specializing in intimate, unforgettable wine tours. We are a team of passionate and very experienced tour guides and support staff. We specialize in tours of the Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley; as well as other magnificent local wine regions, such as Carneros, Russian River, Dry Creek, West Side and Alexander Valley.

Smaller, charming back roads vineyards, historic wineries and family owned operations are our specialty. We love to bring our guests to hidden gem wineries – many of which they wouldn’t necessarily find on their own. These places offer some of the world’s tastiest wines!
Napa Valley Small Group Join-in Tours (7 Days/Week):
Our Napa Valley small group join-in tour lasts about 6 hours and visits three wineries. We specialize in wineries that are small, boutique or family owned, and off the beaten path that change daily. If guests are out and about other days, we are happy to avoid places they have already seen. We pick up at most hotels in Yountville and across from Bouchon at V Marketplace at 10:45am, and drop back off around 5 pm. Tours average 8-12 guests (maximum of 14).
The tour costs $129 per person Sunday through Friday and $139 on Saturdays. We include a boxed picnic lunch at one of the wineries and chilled bottled water. Guests will also get a production or vineyard tour at one of the wineries. The only thing not included are tasting fees, which are about $20-25 per person at each stop.
We also offer small group join-in tours of Sonoma 7 days/week. Guests staying in Yountville will need to meet in downtown Napa at the corner of Main and 5th Street or directly in Sonoma for this tour option.

Once booked, our private tour specialist works with the guest to create a day curated to their preferences. This is a good option for anyone with specific interests who has a vision for their day in wine country. Works great for those who want boutique wineries and/or iconic big name wineries. Any winery can be included on a private tour.
Private tours can add a box picnic lunch, a stop at a restaurant or deli, or an arranged winery lunch. The tour will include plenty of chilled, bottled water and a personal wine tour guide that is highly trained and well informed.
