Of course, Napa Valley is a haven for wine lovers. With four seasons of near perfect weather, it’s also a sanctuary for those seeking relaxation and rejuvenation. Nestled among the rolling hills and lush vineyards, the spas in this region offer an unparalleled experience that combines luxurious treatments with breathtaking scenery.
We asked Cheyanne Mercado, Spa Manager of the recently updated Rendez Vous Spa at Estate Yountville, for her tips on how to make the most of your spa day in Napa Valley.
Originally from Southern California, Cheyanne fell in love with the Napa Valley during college – the slower pace, the outdoors, and the access to nature. For the last 10 years, she has made a career of transforming guests through wellness and relaxation.
At the new Rendez Vous Spa at Estate Yountville, champagne flows as freely as the possibilities for relaxation. As Napa Valley’s first and only spa of its kind, guests are invited indulge in a world-class retreat that marries the effervescence of the famous Veuve Clicquot Champagne with the serene landscapes of wine country. It’s time to elevate your senses, celebrate with bubbles and pamper your body. Rendez Vous Spa is open to the public.
Making the Most of Your Napa Valley Spa Day
Book in Advance
Booking your spa appointment in advance is really helpful. With more lead time, it helps the spa match you with the best massage and wellness therapist and we can get you the time and experience you want. This is especially true for larger group, like a girl’s trip. With more time, we can get treatments all around the same time for a group. It’s a great way to connect and reconnect with friends. But do book in advance.
Research Like You Would a Winery
Another tip is to research the spas just like you would one of the wineries you want to see. More and more, you can book a service directly on the website, so you can incorporate a spa visit in your itinerary from at the planning stages.
Arrive Early
Give yourself at least 30 minutes, or even an hour before your appointment. A little pre-treatment ritual allows you to unwind in the spa’s serene environment and take advantage of the dry saunas, steam room, showers, and then you go into your treatment pre-relaxed.
Hydrate
Before your spa day, make sure to drink plenty of water. Staying hydrated helps your body absorb the benefits of treatments like massages and body wraps, like my favorite Detox experience. Continue to drink plenty of water after your treatments
Customize Your Experience
When booking your treatments, don’t hesitate to discuss your preferences and needs with the staff. They are there to tailor your experience to best suit you. Also, consider exploring treatments inspired by the local region, such as wine-infused facials or grape seed scrubs. During harvest season, for example, we offer the “Crush,” which uses powerful antioxidants of grape seed extract and cane sugar to create a dual action exfoliation that is followed by a luxurious grape seed body butter application.
Disconnect to Reconnect
One of the greatest benefits of a spa day is the opportunity to unplug and really reconnect with yourself. It’s rare we get this kind of time to ourselves, and we really needed it as humans. Leave your phone and valuables in the room. We provide many amenities, so you don’t need to bring much with you.
