Sometimes there is nothing better than a girls weekend away to reset and enjoy life. My friend Jenny and I decided to do a girls “staycation” at The Estate Yountville. The Estate Yountville is a 22 acre estate located in central Yountville. It features two luxury hotels, three restaurants, shopping and more. What more could two girls want for a little getaway!

There are two hotels within The Estate Yountville, Hotel Villagio and Vintage House. Both hotels have recently been remodeled and feature some of the most luxurious amenities in Yountville. Vintage House blends rustic elegance, modern sophistication, and contemporary chic in 80 guests rooms, lofts and bungalows. Each room features vino-cultured touches that channel wine country style. Hotel Villagio, offers 113 guestrooms and 22 suites designed to be sanctuaries for pampering. Hotel Villagio is the place to stay when its time to indulge. Jenny and I stayed at Hotel Villagio to truly experience all of the luxury Yountville has to offer.

At Hotel Villagio we were greeted by the friendly valet service who quickly took our bags and parked our car. Yountville is only a mile long so we were trilled to park the car and forget about it! At check in we were offered JCB bubbles, which we graciously took and cheersed to our good sense to spend the weekend in Yountville.

Tranquil water features line the path to the guest rooms. We headed to our room and were immediately impressed! The room had high vaulted ceilings, a large and comfy king bed, sitting area, and a patio that we were excited to take advantage of. The bathroom was my favorite part. A standing tub, complete with an ice bucket for bath time bubbles. If baths aren’t your thing the shower was huge, complete with a rain shower head. Jenny and I quickly popped a bottle of JCB 21 and enjoyed the unusually warm afternoon on our patio.

One of my favorite things to do at a hotel is explore the bar. We decided to check out  The Bar at Hotel Villagio before heading to dinner. I tried The Gardner, a delightful gin cocktail made with fresh herbs from the Hotel Villagio garden, and Jenny tried the Napa Sour, a play on an old fashioned complete with Napa Valley Zinfandel. Both were exceptional and if we didn’t already have dinner plans we would have stayed for round two!  On Sunday nights the bar also hosts live music, starting at 6:00 p.m., which added to the ambiance.
Next up was dinner. It can be hard to choose a place to eat in Yountville because all of the restaurants are so amazing! On The Estate Yountville you can choose from Bottega, Ottimo, Coqueta, and the newly opened Perry Lang’s. We opted for the newest option and headed over to Perry Lang’s. Perry Lang’s is a New American chophouse featuring a selection of seasonally driven and market-forward cuisine, along with classic steakhouse favorites. Owner, Adam Perry Lang is famous for his one-of-a-kind dry-aged meats, which are the star of the show.

Jenny and I were seated next to the huge fireplace in the dining room and prepared ourselves for the meal to come. We started with the crab cake with scallop mousse, avocado, tomatoes, arugula and the grilled thick cut bacon with maple glaze. The bacon was something to write home about! We also decided we had to try the much talked about hand-cut beef tartar because…when in Yountville! For our main dishes I decided to be bold and try the sea bass. It was to die for! One of the best seafood dishes I have ever had and it was at a steakhouse. Jenny opted for the steak frites. Her steak was cooked perfectly and the duck fat fries were amazing. For dessert we shared the buttermilk pana cotta with citrus gelee, mint granita, and shortbread crumble.

After dinner we decided it was the perfect night to enjoy one more glass of bubbles by the 24 hour hot tub. The evening was perfect and after a big meal the hot tub was just what we needed.

Waking up feeling relaxed and refreshed we headed back to the Bar at Hotel Villagio but this time for their wine-country style breakfast. Breakfast was a bright array of pastries, fresh fruit, smoked salmon, cheese and more. I enjoyed a great glass of the “sunshine blend” juice and a delightful cup of coffee.

Feeling ready to take on the day we decided to take a walk around The Estate before wine tasting. We stopped by The Shops at the Marketplace and enjoyed a sample of chocolate from Kollar Chocolates. Then headed upstairs to see what Sisters Boutique and C’est La Paire had for us to gush over. After our quick shopping spree I insisted we cross the street to take a picture with “The Sidewalk Judge”, the most Instagrammed place in Yountville.

The last stop on our girls weekend was a wine tasting at Silver Trident Winery. We decided to splurge and upgraded our tasting to the 100 Mile Dairies tasting. Each wine was paired with a cheese from within 100 miles of Yountville. We both love cheese, so we knew that this would be the tasting for us! Starting off with a splash of rose Jenny and I wandered around the Ralph Lauren Home decorated tasting room. Everything in the tasting room is for sale and we spotted several things we would love to take home. We tasted through 5 wines, including the limited release Friends & Family red blend. My favorite was the Pinot Noir, Benevolent Dictator.

After our wine tasting, sadly it was time to head home. The best part? Silver Trident is located within The Estate Yountville as well! We had a short walk back to Hotel Villagio and were ready to head back to real life.

If you are looking for the perfect girls getaway look no further than The Estate Yountville. It has everything you need to unwind, relax, and enjoy Yountville.
