Antonio Natal – Executive Chef

As Executive Chef of The Restaurant at North Block, Antonio Natal brings deep Napa Valley roots, extensive culinary experience, and a passion for creating memorable dining experiences that celebrate the region’s agricultural abundance. His approach blends seasonal ingredients, Italian-inspired flavors, and genuine hospitality to create food that is both comforting and refined.

A Napa Valley native, Chef Natal developed his appreciation for food and hospitality at an early age. After graduating from Napa High School, he attended the Culinary Institute of America in St. Helena, earning a degree in Baking and Pastry Arts. His culinary education provided a strong foundation in technique and craftsmanship, along with a lasting respect for quality ingredients that continues to shape his cooking today.

Over the course of his career, Chef Natal has held leadership positions at some of Napa Valley’s most respected restaurants, including The Slanted Door, Salt & Stone, Press Steakhouse, Ciccio, Angèle, and Mustards Grill. Serving as Executive Chef, Chef de Cuisine, and Sous Chef, he has led culinary teams, developed seasonal menus, managed purchasing and inventory systems, and overseen all aspects of kitchen operations.

At North Block, Chef Natal’s vision is to create a welcoming dining destination where both locals and visitors can gather over exceptional food and warm hospitality. Inspired by Napa Valley’s seasonal bounty and the rustic flavors of Italy, he oversees a menu featuring house-made sourdough bread, fresh pasta, handcrafted pizzas, and seasonal specialties that highlight ingredients at their peak.

Guided by a culinary philosophy rooted in seasonality and local sourcing, Chef Natal works closely with regional farmers and producers to showcase the best of Napa Valley throughout the year. His goal is to create dishes that are approachable, flavorful, and memorable while offering guests an authentic taste of the region.

For Chef Natal, cooking is about more than preparing food – it’s about fostering connection and creating a true sense of place. Through every dish and guest experience, he strives to make North Block a restaurant that guests return to time and time again, whether they are visiting Napa Valley for the first time or have called it home for years.
