Wineries in Napa Valley

The name Black Stallion Estate Winery celebrates the property’s rich equestrian history. Additionally, it was once home to the Silverado Horseman’s Center; a place with ambling riding trails, stables and the area’s only indoor arena.

Black Stallion Estate Winery showcases the best of Napa Valley’s diverse winegrowing appellations. We carefully select grapes from a multitude of vineyards, individual vineyard blocks and often rows within a block. By combining the strengths of each lot, our Winemaker crafts world-class wines brimming with bold, rich flavors and gracious mouthfilling textures. Each wine reflects Napa Valley sophistication, finesse and harmony.

TASTING EXPERIENCES

Whether sipping a glass on the open terrace, picnicking in the Estate Garden or sitting down to a tasting in the Barrel Room, we offer a variety of experiences that can be customized to suit your day. Make a reservation for a private tour, lunch or tasting, or simply drop in to experience our current releases and our warm hospitality.

WALK-IN TASTING

An array of tasting options is available at our walk-in tasting room, including flights focused on red wines, Cabernet Sauvignon, Prestige Collection wines and mixed red and white varietals. Featured on weekends, in the spring and summer months (weather permitting), we offer a selection of tastings on our beautiful garden terrace.

Reservations are not required for groups of fewer than eight persons. Groups of 8 or more, limousines and large vehicles require an appointment. Prices range from $25 to $45 per person.

THE MANY FACES OF NAPA VALLEY CABERNET SAUVIGNON

Taste the differences in Napa Valley terroir. This tasting explores the incredible diversity of soils and microclimates in this world-class region.  It also shows how those differences express themselves through Black Stallion Estate Winery’s Cabernet Sauvignons. We welcome you with a taste of one of our rare Limited Release wines and an overview of the Napa Valley wine region to set the stage. Then you’ll see how we craft Cabernet at Black Stallion, with a tour of our estate, setting the stage for a seated, semi-private tasting of four hand-crafted Cabernet Sauvignon wines from different Napa Valley appellations. You’ll taste them blind, and apply your new knowledge to try your hand at guessing which sub-region each Cabernet comes from.

MAKING SENSE OF WINE

Do you trust your nose? Join us for a fun, educational experience which challenges you to identify common wine aromas.  Comparing a series of blind components and aromas to familiar wine varietals. We welcome you to this event with a taste of one of our Limited Release wines and tour of the estate led by an experienced wine educator. We then move to a seated, semi-private tasting where your senses are challenged to identify the aromas in four hand-crafted wines. Finally, we reveal the wines and aromas and pull it all together with a discussion of the key grape varieties and wine styles you have tasted.

PICNIC PAIRINGS

Enjoy a wine country picnic in our beautiful Estate Garden and insectary, thoughtfully paired with Black Stallion Estate wines. We offer several delicious, seasonal picnic menu options to enjoy at a private, shaded table.

All experiences listed below must be reserved at least 24 hours in advance. Picnics last two hours.

LIGHT SNACKING
