Yountville is known worldwide for its wine and food and now it is adding another feather to its Hat…film! The Yountville International Short Film Festival (YISFF) returns for the second year, February 7 – 10, 2019. This is the ultimate in food, wine and short film experience. YISFF is the perfect excuse to get away to Wine Country.

For the second year in a row, the YISFF features an incredible lineup of over 100 short films that are sure to stretch your imagination and change the way you think about short films. Every genre of film will be presented from thought-provoking documentaries and dramatic shorts, to world cinema, comedy shorts, entertaining science fiction/horror selections, beautifully crafted animation, to family-friendly shorts and more.

YISFF will have three viewing venues, each with their own films and events. If you want to take part in the special tasting events make sure to purchase the weekend VIP passes so you don’t miss out! The YISFF VIP Pass includes four wine infused events: Cabernet Cinema, Cuvée Cinema, Champagne Cinema, and the Jessup Cellars February installment of its Art House Short Film Series screened at Bardessono’s pop-up theater.

The screenings that I am most looking forward to include Screening Block 3: World Class Cinema (VIP EVENT), featuring some of the best in foreign short film; Screening Block 4: Sins of the Father; focusing on the dramatic relationships of family;, and Screening Block 16: Kids & Families, guaranteed to awaken the child in all of us!

YISFF is a great excuse to explore Yountville during Cabernet Season. If you are looking for the five star resort experience book a room at Bardessono or the newly remodeled Hotel Villagio. If a quiet B&B is more your style Lavender is the perfect place for you. In-between screenings, explore tasting rooms such as intimate Handwritten Wines or the new RH Wine Vault at Historic Ma(i)sonry. Make sure and book reservations at some of Yountville’s amazing restaurants, such as the newly opened La Calenda by Thomas Keller or locals favorite Redd Wood.  No matter where you spend your time in town, you are sure to fall in love with Yountville.

If you simply cannot wait until February, YISFF is co-hosting a VIP and media sneak preview screening on Saturday, January 19 at Jessup Cellars from 7:00pm to 9:30pm. The event will be combined with the opening night of Jessup Cellars 6th Annual Art House Short Film Series, which runs monthly through April. The series has become a hot ticket and is known for pairing four award-winning films with wine and flavor-infused popcorns created by Chef MikeC.
