March is here and Spring has sprung in the Napa Valley. Grab some friends and head up to Yountville for some of the best events of the year!
Saturday, March 3,10, and 17
It all started with a visit to In-N-Out Burger. The year was 1992 and Chef Keller had landed on the west coast, a new arrival by way of Manhattan. The simple pleasure of a burger and fries prepared with fresh ingredients and served to order provided both comfort and inspiration. Fast forward to 2006, when Yountville’s Ad Hoc was established as a temporary placeholder for a restaurant that Chef Keller planned to name “Burgers & Half Bottles.” But with Ad Hoc’s runaway popularity, Chef Keller shelved his original concept, and Ad Hoc became a permanent fixture in the Yountville Community. Still, the Burgers & Half Bottles concept intrigued Chef Keller, so now – twelve years later – the Ad Hoc team is bringing it to life at last.
Ad Hoc is putting on a limited lunchtime pop-up called Burgers & Half Bottles! From 11am-2pm on Saturdays between February 17 – March 17, they will be featuring half-pound burgers, fries, and special spices on half bottles of wine (menu without alcohol is $22).
Reservations are available through Open Table or calling 707-944-2487.
Yountville Live is the ultimate, luxury getaway festival, featuring exclusive performances from some of today’s hottest recording artists, exquisite cuisines from world-class restaurants and award-winning chefs, and a unique variety of some of Napa Valley’s most celebrated wineries and the finest beers and spirits available. The fourth annual Yountville Live music, wine and food festival takes place March 15-18. It will feature James Beard Award winning chef Stephanie Izard, chef and Food Network host Bob Blumer and renowned local chefs, including Bob Hurley, Chris Kollar, Morgan Robinson, Nick Ritchie, Nate Lindsey, Cindy Pawlcyn and Anita Cartagena. The four-day event will include headline performances by X Ambassadors, Foy Vance and Needtobreathe, and performances throughout the weekend by Dave Barnes, Emerson Hart, Marc Broussard, Jon McLaughlin, Logan Brill, Corey Harper, Keelan Donova and High Noon. Joy Bauer, the health and wellness guru from the Today Show, and “Eat Travel Rock” TV host Kelly Rizzo will host events throughout the weekend.
Of course Chef Hurley is as Irish as it gets. He is so Irish that his entire St. Patrick’s Day menu is written in Gaelic. Bob prepares a mix of classic Irish cuisine including “in brine for 6 weeks, melt in your mouth” corned beef & cabbage, and Irish Lamb Stew along with some of his everyday menu favorites. Join Hurley’s for a pint of stout or throw back a little Irish whiskey (John Powers is Chef Hurley’s favorite!) at one of Hurley’s liveliest annual events!
Join Silunus for an afternoon of wines, cheese and chocolate. Enjoy barrel tasting with our winemaker, Bradley Smith, tap your feet to some live tunes and don’t forget to play a game of bocce ballin our beautiful garden grotto. Celebrate Spring at Silenus!
Bon Appétit! Hurley’s Restaurant in Yountville is hosting a Julia Child inspired dinner to celebrate the Napa Valley Museum Yountville’s exhibit “France is a Feast: the Photographic Journey of Paul & Julia Child.” On Friday, March 30 from 6 to 10 pm, enjoy a three course dinner inspired by the French Chef for $65 (plus tax/tip); Hurley’s is generously donating 15% to the Napa Valley Museum Yountville!
