It’s the most wonderful time of the year in Yountville! This year, enjoy the magic of the Holiday Season in Yountville during Holidays in Yountville taking place November 18 – January 1. Enjoy over a 100 events, activities and performances fit for the whole family. Events include carriage rides, holiday movies, photos with Santa, holiday cocktail class, Nutcracker performances, a Broadway holiday spectacular, the Santa Train by Napa Valley Wine Train, and much more.
I have gathered some of the events that I am most looking forward to below!
Santa Train by Napa Valley Wine Train: Offered daily until December 29th, sip hot cocoa, indulge in freshly-baked cookies, and join in games and sing-alongs with a jolly cast of characters headlined by Santa himself as you journey to the North Pole. The Santa Train is the perfect way to get your whole family into the holiday spirit!
FREE Holiday Movie Series: What better way to get out and enjoy the holidays than by enjoying a free Holiday Movie at the Lincoln Theater! Lincoln Theater, Yountville Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Yountville are proud to present the 2nd annual Holiday Movie Series. Bring the whole family to experience these modern holiday classics on the big screen: The Santa Clause, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, The Polar Express and The Muppets Christmas Carol.
Shop Small Saturday: Yountville is participating for the first time in American Express Small Business Saturday! On Saturday, November 24 from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. take advantage of the unique local shops in V Marketplace, Edward James Courtyard, JCB Village and Washington Square for all your holiday gift needs. For every $50 you spend you will be entered for an amazing giveaway. Make sure to bring your giveaway tickets back to the second floor of V Marketplace from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. and enjoy wine and cheese while you shop!
GrapeWreath Making: Visit Hill Family Estate during the holiday season and participate in a grapevine wreath-making class. Craft custom wreaths and home décor from the grapevine canes clipped from Hill Family Estate’s vineyard in Yountville. Sip on Hill Family wines while learning to construct one-of-a-kind grapevine art and take home your masterpiece once complete. This fun activity is only $20 and takes place every Saturday between Thanksgiving and Christmas!
FREE Carriage Rides Through Yountville: There is no better way to see the twinkling lights of Yountville than on a horse drawn carriages. Carriage rides are free and pick up in front of the Yountville Community Center. Bundle up and enjoy a romantic ride with your sweetie or bring the kids and let them enjoy the beautiful lights. Carriage rides take place on Saturday, November 24, December 1, 8, and 15.
Santa’s Workshop: No Holiday Season is complete without a trip to see Santa! The young and the young at heart are invited to attend this festive workshop where you can enjoy donuts, fruit, hot chocolate, coffee, cider and juice while having the opportunity to write a letter to Santa, make an ornament and enjoy holiday music. Of course, you will also get to visit with the big guy himself, SANTA! Parents make sure to bring your camera! Reservations are encouraged!
Holiday Photos on Priest Ranch Lighted Tractor: Grab your family, friends and four-legged friends for a holiday photo on the Priest Ranch tractor! Have your camera in hand and ready to capture that perfect moment for your holiday card. Don’t forget to bring an extra prop or even pull out your ugly sweater to make the photo more unique and truly a Priest Ranch experience. Priest Ranch will be open from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. daily, so take your picture and head in for a wine tasting with cheese on one of their leather couches or next to the fireplace in your own wingbacked chair.
Transcendence Broadway Holiday Spectacular: If you love musicals you will not want to miss Transcendence’s Broadway Holiday Spectacular at the Lincoln Theater! Performers will delight audiences with performances of songs from Broadway hits, such as, WICKED, WHITE CHRISTMAS, MARY POPPINS, MAMMA MIA, and more. You’ll have the time of your life enjoying a spectacular surprise of song and dance packed with showstoppers, holiday favorites, and modern twists on some of the worlds most uplifting and cherished songs. Broadway Holiday Spectacular will run for two nights, Thursday, December 6 and Friday, December 7.
Chef and Somm Holiday Pairings: Want to up your holiday meal game this year? Join Somm Philip O’Conor, of Handwritten, and Chef Nate Lindsay, of Lucy Restaurant and Bar for an intimate lesson how to make the best wine and food holiday pairing. Featuring six wines from Handwritten paired perfectly with small bites you will learn how to match wines with your favorite holiday dishes. The event takeaways include recipes by Chef Nate and a special $40 off gift card for purchases of 3 bottles or more of Handwritten’s hillside and mountain Napa Valley District Cabernet Sauvignons.
Gingerbread House Contest: Are you a crafty person who also loves the holidays? Take part in Stewart Cellars Second Annual Gingerbread House Contest. Pick up your Gingerbread House the week before Thanksgiving or make your own creation. All items on the house need to be edible which is half the fun! Turn in your Gingerbread House and join Stewart Cellars on Sunday, December 16, for sweet treats, apple cider, and hot cocoa from Southside Café as you listen to Christmas carolers and vote for your favorite houses. Wine will be available for purchase. Tickets to vote for your favorite house are $1, with proceeds going to the Yountville Elementary School.
